Sahhaf is derived from the word "suhuf" and is a plural form of the word page. In the absence of printing presses, people reproduced books by hand. Those who did this were called Sahhaf. Later, booksellers in the Ottoman Empire became known as Sahhafchi.

The task set

The logo and visual style of the cafe had to explain the essence of the word and give a hint of history. The symbols should reflect oriental culture, and the design style should be calm, cultural and high quality. The main goal was to create a simple, convenient and easily perceived badge.

Our solution

The symbol depicts the first letter of the word "Sahhafchi", "S", in the form of two intertwined book forms. In addition, the sign symbolizes kindness, embodying sitting opposite each other. The edges of the symbol are made in a similar way to traditional oriental symbols and objects. Given that the source of the word is Ottoman and contains history, the symbols are successful.

Considering that the main inhabitants of the book cafe will be lovers of literature and books, the calm and peaceful image was created through colors. Mild colors that give a sense of history and tradition are preferred.
